The Project Manager will work in the branch to support customer project initiatives. They will be the liaison between the customer, operations and the corporate teams to provide status update, reports and collaborate on the planning to achieve customer objectives. Working across the various functional groups, this position will be tasked with delivering results in line with project deadlines. Tasks could include the following but will not be limited to:
The responsibilities of a Project Manager may include but are not limited to:
- Act as primary point of contact (POC) for the customer on operational and performance issues.
- Monitor project performance to customer requirements and expectations.
- Issue regular reports on program performance.
- Coordinate work of various functional groups such as: operations, IT, quality and billing.
- Develop project plans and coordinate their implementation- start-ups and recovery plans.
- Identify areas of non-conformance and develop remedial plans (such as CARs).
- Translate operations needs into draft requirements for IT development.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure timely order fulfillment when applicable.
- Resolve customer issues in a timely manner via a customer-defined escalation process.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate billing data is accurate.
- Closely monitor branch P&L’s.
Required Experience:
- Responsible for contract reviews, specifically detailing scope of work.
- 3+ years program, project, or operations management experience or
- 3+ years in a position that has required intensive customer interaction.
- 3+years working in a distribution or forward logistics operation.
- Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, Access and Project), report preparation and data analysis.
Educational Requirements:
- B.S. degree in engineering, project management or a related discipline is preferred.
