Job Description
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for processing and placing supply orders in Coupa, and stocking Kanban shelving within each department within the Environment Testing Laboratory. This involves constant interaction with the laboratories and vendors. Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette are essential skills for this position. Strong problem-solving skills are also necessary to audit, track, and confirm all issues relating to requisitions and purchase orders.
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is a Full-Time, onsite position, located at our Barberton site. The position hours operate Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
The position compensation range for this role is $22.00- $27.00/hr based on experience.
Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Operates a multi-line telephone system. Screens and routes incoming telephone calls to the appropriate department or employee to ensure clients and vendors are responded to in an expedient and professional manner.
- Greets clients, vendors and visitors to the laboratory at the front desk and follows appropriate sign-in procedures to maintain a professional business environment.
- Operates standard office equipment such as computers, faxes, scanners, multi-line telephone systems and copiers to ensure that communications are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Schedules vendors for service of office equipment.
- Schedules appointments, meetings and special events for laboratory staff.
- Inventories and orders office supplies so that appropriate supply levels are on hand to perform necessary job duties.
- Generates purchase orders for laboratory consumables in Coupa.
- Receives orders electronically in Coupa and restocks inventory in warehouse.
- Works with Technical and Operation Leaders within the Laboratory to source alternative supplies when primary vendor cannot fulfill.
- Identifies cost saving opportunities and
- Primary leader of the internal Kanban Inventory System within the Laboratory.
- Audits account codes to ensure proper billings.
- Communicates with laboratories on issues relating to orders including shortages, shipment delays and discontinued products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments.
- Successfully conducts and completes all assigned training.
- Participate in continuous improvement training and in training others.
- Collaborates in cost saving initiatives with Coordinators from other Business Units within the US Eurofins Environment Testing Group.
- Maintains all stocking areas clean and organized
- Assists in other areas as needed or assigned
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 year of inventory and/or purchasing experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand and walk frequently, estimated about 3+ hours/day
- Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 25+ lbs. occasionally
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience in purchasing, negotiating pricing with vendors and recognizing cost saving opportunities
- Experience with Coupa or other equivalent purchasing system
- Experience with paperless inventory system, Coupa is a plus
- 2+ years of inventory and purchasing experience
- Previous warehouse and/or laboratory experience
- 1+ years of experience with Kanban, LEAN/5S and/or other similar workflow management systems along with continuous improvement programs.
- Experience adhering to safety protocols
- Proven analytical math skills
