Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Job Summary:
Trailines Enterprises is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to manage sourcing, procurement, and vendor relationships for our growing operation. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality trailer parts and materials to support all business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete purchasing cycle, including sourcing, quoting, ordering, and receiving of trailer parts and materials.
- Identify and select qualified suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value and profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand in collaboration with parts, service, and sales departments.
- Ensure timely delivery of all purchased goods; proactively resolve any supply chain disruptions.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to foster long-term partnerships and improve purchasing leverage.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality and service standards.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost savings opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational needs and special projects.
- Monitor market trends, product innovations, and industry developments to inform purchasing decisions.
- Implement and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines, budgetary constraints, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on purchasing activities, spend analysis, and key performance indicators.
- Support parts department and inventory management teams with cycle counts, audits, and stock reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the trailer, automotive, or industrial sector.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a focus on cost control and quality.
- Proficient with purchasing software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices and vendor management.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
