Position Summary:
- Assist Quality Manager to reduce and eliminate internal and external rejects
- Understand and work within the guidelines of the current quality system
- Organize, Maintain, and Document all product dimensional checks and approvals
- Assist production in measuring, maintaining, and documenting quality of product
- Assist with Customers Requiring FAIR’s
- Assist production staff with completing In Process Inspection Forms
- Conduct random audits of production to ensure they are completing inspection forms
- Utilize and perform inspections with the following measuring equipment Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Vision System, FARO arm, CMM, and Pin/Radius Gauges.
- Maintain in Process Inspection Requirements for production.
- Maintain, and Update Material Certification Paperwork
- Inspect and approve incoming product/material from outside services.
- Read and understand a variety of customer blueprints and tolerance ranges
- Identify critical dimensional checks and approve parts from one operation to the next
Essential Functions:
- Work With Production to successfully reduce internal and external rejections
- Maintain quality dimensional checks at required operations
- Generate inspection approval forms
- Measure and maintain quality documents and request hold on production if needed
- Utilize measuring equipment to ensure product passes all quality standards
- Build effective working relationships with production staff
- Maintain Quality Certifications and Inspections
- Assist quality manager in resolving open Corrective Action Reports
- Provides continuous updates to Quality Manager as required
Education/Experience:
- One to Five years of prior experience in a quality inspection role or similar is sufficient. College Degree or On the Job experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and or a similar field is preferred. Some prior Quality Inspection Experience is preferred, with focus in the metal fabricating industry. Certifications and or Experience in Quality Standards, ISO, and Corrective Action Evaluation are preferred.

- Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, co-workers and outside engineers. Assist production with maintaining quality product from one operation to the next. Proficient in the following measuring equipment :
o Height Gauge
o GD&T
o CMM (Brown and Sharpe) PC Dmis
o Vision System (Micro-vu) In-spec
o FARO arm CAM2
o Micrometer
o Radius Gauge
o Pin Gauge
Physical Demands:
- Physical activities may include walking around the plant and upstairs to the office.
- Primarily working from office environment. Occasional exposure to moderately loud equipment. Eye protection is required while operating equipment and while in the plant area. Proper protective footwear highly recommended throughout the plant.
