PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Reading Academies Facilitator supports the implementation of the Texas Reading Academies by delivering high-quality in person training and coaching to all K-3 teachers and administrators through facilitation of a year-long cohort. This role involves guiding participants through the Reading Academies modules, providing timely and constructive feedback on artifacts and submissions, facilitating collaboration, completing observations, and ensuring fidelity to TEA's science of teaching reading framework. A key component of this role also includes mentoring and coaching early-career teachers to build foundational instructional skills and confidence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree (Preferred)
Valid Texas teaching certification
ESL Certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrate proficiency on state screener
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the science of teaching reading
Ability to coach teachers and provide feedback
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor
Experience:
Three years experience as a classroom teacher (preferred K-3)
Two years experience in instructional leadership/coaching role preferred
Previous experience in planning and delivering professional development
Pay: Teacher Scale plus stipend
