Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Attorney to support and grow our transactional real estate practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or a young attorney with 1–2 years of experience to gain hands-on experience with closings, title insurance, and deed preparation, while working closely with the firm’s founder to manage daily operations and client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and revise real estate contracts, deeds, affidavits, and settlement documents
- Perform and review title searches and abstracts
- Clear title issues and prepare title commitments
- Oversee real estate closings from intake to disbursement
- Coordinate with lenders, realtors, and clients to ensure timely closings
- Assist in managing firm operations, file organization, and client communications
- Maintain compliance with title insurance underwriting guidelines (Old Republic)
- Participate in developing and refining firm systems and workflow processes
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active West Virginia bar license (or pending July 2025 results with intent to practice)
- Interest or background in real estate law, title insurance, or transactional practice
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Qualia, SoftPro, or similar real estate platforms
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to grow with the firm
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience with title abstracting or closings
- Familiarity with title insurance underwriting guideliens
- Ability to review surveys, legal descriptions, and subdivision plats

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
