Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
This position supports risk management processes through the coordination of risk management programs with restaurant operations and internal departments. The Risk Management Specialist provides customer service and support for the administration of all risk management programs, including workers’ compensation claims.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Claims Management Support
- Daily Reconciliation of WC/PL claims, ensuring claims are transmitted to Darden’s TPA of claims and escalate discrepancies as they arise
- Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Get Well emails daily
- Support Legal discovery to include wage statements, personnel files, etc.
- Assist with the claims process and coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed (E.g. LORs and reports)
- Support team mailboxes to assist with inquiries and escalations
- Support claim reporting, escalations of medical bills for review/payment for workers' compensation
- Assist with month-end reports as needed for claim cost
- Process voluntary resignation/general release payments, log and coordinate with the Leave of Absence team
- Support team mailboxes to assist with inquiries and escalations
- Process checks related to claims and recoveries to ensure accurate coding
- Support calls for public liability and worker’s compensation claims
- Upload and share CCTV footage with Darden’s Claims Administrator
Safety Support
- Complete and file annual OSHA survey forms
- Support OSHA Complaint/Rapid response process with Risk Control, Legal and Risk Manager
- Support jurisdictional inspections with Operations, internal partner, and vendors
- Support with preparing Opportunity Restaurant Program materials
- Support team mailboxes to assist with inquiries and escalations
- Complete the Quarterly Safety Recognition certificates process
Risk Management Support
- Responsible for entering invoices in Oracle
- Coordinate placement and renewal of surety bonds with requestor and insurance company
- Coordinate certificate of insurance process with requestor and Broker
- Generate reporting related to claims, financials, or other team initiatives
- Handle special projects, or other duties assigned by Risk Management Leadership
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-1 - 2 years’ experience in a support role with one or more of the following areas - insurance, risk management, human resources, employee relations, legal, operations, finance
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma

- Knowledge, experience and understanding of insurance or risk management best practices
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft operating systems, claims systems, and ability to adapt to changing technology
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- College Degree preferred
