Senior Program Manager Violence Intervention and Prevention

Boston Public Health Commission
Boston, Massachusetts
Full time
About the Program:
The Violence Intervention & Prevention (VIP)--known as "Village in Progress" in many communities--is grounded in the belief that safe, thriving neighborhoods are built through connection, trust, and equity. VIP's mission is to prevent violence by building and sustaining strong communities where residents understand the root causes of violence and are empowered to address them.   Operating across five micro-neighborhoods in Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan, the VIP Initiative leads trauma-informed community building initiatives. The program also includes a Youth Organizing Institute, a peer leadership program that explores the roots of violence and trains young leaders to lead violence prevention workshops in schools, afterschool programs, and youth-serving organizations. VIP works in collaboration with five key community partners to expand its reach and deepen community engagement.
