Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive service and repair, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and manage service operations. This role involves coordinating between customers and technicians, ensuring that all service needs are met efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their vehicle service needs.
- Prepare detailed service estimates and communicate them clearly to customers.
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service history, and transactions.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Stay updated on automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and industry trends.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial records as required.
- Assist in managing the scheduling of appointments for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dealership environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of auto service management principles.
- Experience in upselling automotive services is a plus.
- Background in mechanics or automotive diagnostics is highly desirable.
- Solid mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, including but not limited to transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, and air brake systems.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and automotive repair practices.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Experience in sales within the automotive sector is advantageous.
