Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse, ensuring accurate processing of shipments, and maintaining inventory records. The ideal candidate will have experience in a distribution center environment and possess strong skills in shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and labeling them accurately.
- Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using MRP systems or AS400 software.
- Coordinate with e-commerce teams to fulfill online orders promptly.
- Organize the warehouse layout to optimize space and improve workflow.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in stock replenishment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating equipment within the warehouse.
Requirements
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles within a distribution center is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with e-commerce fulfillment processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems such as AS400 or similar MRP software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Physical capability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications related to warehousing or logistics are advantageous.
