Job Summary:
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming small parcel and freight shipments.
- Compares incoming shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records to verify information.
- Utilizes in-house package tracking system so that all packages and freight are captured.
- Prepares assets for distribution including transportation and storage.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies basic skills appropriate for the position. Adheres to and utilizes all procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of equipment and tools. Maintains high standards; works steadily at efficient pace. Interacts hospitably, cheerfully, and supportively to customers, staff, visitors, and work colleagues. Maintains equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating condition. Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, customer needs, and Manager requests. Accepts suggestions and direction from supervisors and facility staff. Honors department’s attendance, break, behavior, dress, and safety codes. Exercises good judgment while working around staff, customers and visitors. Remains professional at all times. Takes initiative in rendering services or responding to needs. Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Skills: Good communication skills – written and verbal.
Comfort with basic computer skills required.
SAP knowledge preferred, but not required
Education: High school diploma strongly preferred.
Physical Functions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Position requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Contacts: Customers, facility staff, co-workers, supervisors.
Environmental Conditions:
Usually inside, well ventilated and lighted areas.
