Shipping/Receiving Lead - JOB SUMMARY
Shipping/Receiving Lead overseas all aspects of both inbound receiving and outbound shipping of all orders at Brew City. This position ensures that orders ship accurately and on time, and that orders are received with accurate counts in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shipping/Receiving Manager must be knowledgeable about all Receiving, Shipping and QC/Post-Production functions to a level where they work independently and lead others in numerous departments
- Proactively be aware of all in-house orders & related mandatory ship dates. Communicate with sales and customer service consistently
- Communicate shortages or problems to sales and accounting team
- Responsible for Return Authorizations (“RA’s”). Process RA’s within 24 hours of being aware of the need, and communicate with both sales team and accounting team to ensure paperwork is processed through multiple areas of the company
- Assist receiving staff with receiving shipments, when necessary, due to fluctuations in workflow
- Ensures that all jobs ship out accurately and on time. This means that the quality of items shipped meet established standards and that the items are shipped meeting all established post-production requirements by outside parties. This includes but is not limited to proper labeling of items, labeling of boxes and shipping documentation.
- Must know how to use client portals to order process orders and shipments. This includes the ability to order price tickets, assign invoice numbers, submit Advanced Shipment Notices (“ASN”), and request routing.
- Train additional staff to know all aspects of your position to ensure consistent workflow with no interruptions in your absence
- Must be able to book shipments, primarily via FedEx and UPS Parcel and LTL ship methods.
- Work closely with production manager to be aware of current workflow
- Work with Receiving team to stage all print jobs properly for production
- Receive all stock apparel
- Attend Daily Production Meeting and communicate all inbound/outbound shipments and proactively communicate any issues with the team
- Process all the orders that are shipping current day, ensuring that orders are staged for pick up in their proper location
- Ensure that all scheduled orders were processed and shipped
- Make sure that the dock doors are locked and secure
- Check inventory of shipping supplies, Reorder as needed to ensure no process delays
- Review RA's and communicate with sales/accounting to obtain anything needed to execute and leave no RA's on the floor
- Deep clean of shipping, receiving, and stock area of production floor
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse lead or logistics roles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations is preferred.
