The Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) plays a pivotal role in our community, responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our dining services. This includes developing and implementing nutritionally balanced, delicious, and innovative menus that cater to the unique dietary needs and preferences of our residents. The CDM collaborates with our skilled culinary team, healthcare professionals, and management to ensure a seamless, enjoyable, and memorable dining experience.
Our Certified Dietary Managers:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive nutritional program for residents, taking into consideration individual dietary requirements, food allergies, and preferences.
- Ensure all meals meet or exceed state and federal nutritional guidelines while also delivering an exceptional dining experience.
- Manage and oversee food service operations, including food purchasing, preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate culinary staff to ensure adherence to high-quality standards, safety protocols, and excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop specialized meal plans for residents with specific medical or dietary needs.
- Monitor and maintain food safety standards, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and refine menus and dining experiences based on resident feedback, dietary trends, and new culinary techniques.
- Manage budgets and inventory, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive work environment for all team members.
What you need to succeed!
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Service Manager (CFSM) required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, or related field preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP protocols.
- Proficient in menu planning, budgeting, and inventory management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
