Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine & Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of compact construction and landscape equipment. This includes jumping jacks/rammers, pneumatic tools, generators, ride-on concrete trowels, and small engines from leading brands such as Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Stihl, Wacker Neuson, and Husqvarna. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, hands-on mechanical expertise, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within our service team.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on small engines and compact equipment.
- Service and repair two-stroke and four-stroke engines (Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Stihl, etc.).
- Troubleshoot carburetors, ignition systems, and fuel delivery issues.
- Repair and maintain Wacker Neuson and Husqvarna compaction equipment (e.g., rammers/jumping jacks, plate compactors).
- Inspect and repair pneumatic tools, power cutters, and portable generators.
- Maintain accurate records of service, parts usage, and customer communication.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience with ride-on concrete trowels a plus!.
- Proven experience in small engine repair (Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Stihl).
- Hands-on experience with construction and landscape equipment such as Wacker Neuson rammers, Husqvarna saws and Rammers, and portable generators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in carburetor rebuilds, ignition repairs, and general diagnostics.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems a plus.
- Must have own set of tools appropriate for small engine/equipment repair.
