About the Role & Team

Our team sources goods and services for Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ships and private islands. The Sourcing Specialist coordinates requirements from Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and fulfills them efficiently through quoting, bidding, negotiation and contracting. This role involves working closely with US and European teams, providing expertise in planning and implementing sourcing initiatives within company guidelines. The specialist will drive strategic sourcing across various categories, including ship systems, safety, hotel, furnishings, navigation, environmental, and repair & maintenance. They will coordinate expedited and cost-efficient shipping, ensuring compliance with trade and compliance guidelines. The role also involves managing Strategic Sourcing initiatives, conducting market and supplier risk analyses, and executing contracts. We welcome your passion and skills to our dynamic, global team.

What You Will Do

  • Focus on client management, category management, and technical solutions.
  • Drive sourcing initiatives to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) without compromising policies or performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic sourcing arrangements.
  • Negotiate supply relationships, including cost, lead time, terms, scope of work, payment milestones, and warranties.
  • Manage quotes, project sourcing, and order execution for assigned DCL vessels.
  • Coordinate requirements with on-board partners and shoreside management, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Leverage the global supply base for the best landed cost.
  • Resolve issues like missed timelines, order errors, and returns.
  • Provide timely and professional communication to partners.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Use analytical skills to solve complex problems with a data-driven approach.
  • Apply category management best practices in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
  • Manage contracts and key supplier relationships, understanding global, regional, and local contracts.
  • Execute risk management practices and support corporate citizenship goals in environmental and supplier diversity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years in strategic sourcing and procurement for the marine industry or related project/construction management.
  • Experience negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
  • Ability to conform contracts for technical and non-technical engagements.
  • Understanding and executing formal RFP processes for services or goods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Exchange, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work with urgency and keep commitments.
  • Experience interacting with diverse cultures and work styles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Marine/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, or similar discipline.
  • Familiarity with AMOS, Coupa, and SAP sourcing and procurement systems.
