Summary:
Provide support to all maintenance personnel by performing the daily duties of inventory
control within the specific Maintenance area assigned while in a leadership role. Duties are related to the function of building maintenance which requires maintaining a diverse maintenance parts/equipment storeroom. Focus daily on management of inventory and the related procurement processes to provide seamless service to those that maintain the
physical operation of the District owned facilities. This is a non-OTETA position.

Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Perform and oversee storeroom duties while in a leadership role which include planning, procuring, organizing
and directing the operation of assigned maintenance parts/equipment warehouse.
Perform multiple storeroom duties that are highly independent and require the application of multiple computer
software applications and practices.
Maintain efficient stock levels of commonly used parts to facilitate the work flow to those that maintain the physical
operation of District owned facilities while minimizing shrinkage.
Procure special order items on an as needed basis by creating a purchase order or using a District assigned
purchasing card.
Obtain and uphold an advanced knowledge on related bids, bid verbiage and HCPS procurement guidelines as it
pertains to assigned warehouse required.
Organize, receive, store, track, determine obsolescent material and inspect maintenance repair parts/equipment
for approval of use and or direct returns of defective parts and equipment on an as needed basis.
Secure warehouse during normal business hours limiting access to necessary personnel.
Monitor quantity and quality of work produced through audits, inspections, reports, expenditures, etc. and institute
corrective action where needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
Maintain a higher working knowledge of inventory and equipment related to diverse list of maintenance parts and
equipment as related to the maintenance department assigned.
Perform, assist or oversee the receiving and pick up of inventory and equipment related to assigned warehouse.
Attend training required by HCPS to keep abreast of current technology relevant to all essential duties.
Adhere to principles and practices of the HCPS safe driving program including but not limited to operation of
HCPS vehicles and equipment.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient flow of communications and service.
Must be able to operate fork lift, pallet jack and other miscellaneous warehouse equipment.
The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if
such functions are appropriate to skill level.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in procurement, shipping, receiving,
storekeeping, property control or maintenance parts/equipment related skilled trade, such as but not limited to
plumbing, carpentry, electrical, irrigation, roofing or HVAC.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Class “E” driver’s license
Language Skills:
Read and interpret general business and professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Write
reports, correspondence, and manuals. Effectively present and respond to questions from managers and the
public. Must possess basic comprehensive skills of the working English language.
Mathematical Skills:
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,
circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and various maintenance applications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the following physical activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and
hearing.
This position requires the following lifting demands:. Up to 35 pounds.
This position requires the following reaching activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
This position involves the following environmental conditions: Noise Intensity 4: Loud; Extreme cold, Extreme heat,
Proximity to moving mechanical parts. .
