Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The NBCUniversal team is looking for a Senior Analyst, User Experience Research to execute quantitative and qualitative bodies of research that support the Peacock product roadmap — defining new paths forward for the product while achieving organizational objectives and solving for immediate product and design needs. This person will collaborate with cross functional partners across the Product, Design, Data Science, and Analytics teams, and will contribute research that will help the team validate and evaluate features. Reporting to the Senior Director of User Research and Consumer Insights, the Senior Analyst will represent the voices of our users, embedding user insights into our product conversations and influencing stakeholders across the organization.

Our multi-disciplinary team is made up of UX Researchers, Designers, Content Strategists, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers — all of whom care deeply about our products and building the future of entertainment. You will join this team as a thoughtful quantitative or mixed methods researcher and will be responsible for executing research that assesses and informs the immediate, medium, and long term goals of our Product and Design partners.
The methods you will be called on to employ may include, but are not limited to: surveys, in-depth interviews, moderated and unmoderated concept and usability tests, and diary studies. All the while, you will also collaborate with our Analytics and Data Science teams to find connections between attitudinal and behavioral data to further dimensionalize the needs of our users.
Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research on multiple aspects of consumer product and device experiences
- Collecting and analyzing user behavior via surveys, lab studies, remote interviews, observational tests, ethnographies, diary studies, and more
- Working with Designers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and other UX Researchers to define research opportunities that align with business objectives and center user needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Supporting the User Research roadmap, working with your manager and other UX Researchers to ensure stakeholder and product needs are met and well aligned to achieve organizational KPIs and goals
- Communicating and socializing research findings effectively, translating insights into actionable recommendations for your stakeholders
- Vendor coordination, as may be necessary on specific projects
- Accountability for the quality of your research execution and deliverables
- Contributing to our collaborative, innovative, and inclusive research culture
- Connecting with other Research colleagues across NBCUniversal to share insights as well as lessons learned in conducting research
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience conducting and analyzing research employing quantitative and qualitative methods — including surveys, and moderated and unmoderated usability studies
- 3+ years of experience executing applied research
- 2+ years of experience conducting research on products
- A working understanding of strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development lifecycle
- Strong familiarity with statistics and survey tools like Qualtrics
- Clear written and verbal communication, data storytelling and presentation skills
- Experience partnering closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts
Desired Characteristics:
- Master’s degree in Sociology, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Statistics, or a related field
- Familiarity with statistical software and analysis tools such as SPSS, R, SQL, and/or Python
- Some familiarity with behavioral user analytics and how to incorporate them into UX research efforts
- Experience supporting a wider range of research methodologies (e.g., diary studies, card sorting exercises, digital ethnographies)
- An interest in researching personalization and/or recommendation systems
- Experience working with stakeholders and driving strategic product value
- Experience managing projects

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000
