Job Description:
STEM & Environmental Educators deliver 1 to 4-hour lessons to students in K to 8th grade. Curriculum and training are provided to deliver experiential lessons consisting of both an outdoor place-based component and hands-on experiments in our labs. These lessons focus on exploring the connections between the natural and human-made world and developing critical thinking skills. Each educator is responsible for instructing up to 20 students. We are committed to providing the highest quality educational experience to our schools and are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated educators to join our team!
Details:
STEM & Environmental Educator (Part-Time, Seasonal Position) $20-$23 per hour, depending on experience. Paid time is 3 - 6 hours per class, depending on the class taught. Classes occur during school hours, but additional opportunities occasionally exist for weekend teaching. This position starts in September and runs through mid-November, with the option to continue with us in the spring. Must be available for training the week of Sept. 15th.
Desired experience & qualifications
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
- Ability to be on your feet for 6 hours, walk 3 miles per day, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work as part of a team of educators.
- Comfortable speaking in front of a group.
- Ability to maintain strong classroom management and culture.
- A passion for STEM and Environmental education!
