Job Description
The Equity and Inclusion Initiatives (EII) Department is seeking a highly-motivated and detail-oriented
undergraduate student to serve as the Student Specialist beginning this coming 2025-2026 academic
year and beyond. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support university-wide equity and
inclusion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for departmental programs, events, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for the university’s Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program.
- Assist with the administration and logistics of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)
- across the university.
- Offer front desk coverage and act as the first point of contact for the department.
- Manage communications, including answering phone calls, voicemails, and departmental emails.
- Schedule and organize meetings and trainings for the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion.
- Draft internal communications and messaging.
- Maintain department reports and contact lists.
- Monitor and manage office equipment, supplies, and other operational needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Hours
- 10-12 hours per week
- Scheduled between 8:30 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday around class schedule
Compensation and Benefits
- Rate of Pay: $15.97/hour
- Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
- Not eligible for health insurance benefits
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Augsburg University for the 2025–2026
- academic year.
- Eligible for Federal and/or State Work Study (contact [email protected] for confirmation).
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrated intercultural competency.
- Strong verbal communication and administrative writing skills.
- Proven ability to manage processes and coordinate logistics efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and solving problems proactively.
- Able to work effectively in dynamic environments.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Google Suite applications (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
