Position Overview:
Mountain Pass Warehouse Superintendent is responsible for developing and implementing warehousing strategies and overseeing warehouse activities in support of Mountain Pass operations and projects. The role reports to the Director of Supply Chain department and is responsible for supervising multiple crews of personnel supporting 24/7 warehouse operations. This role will implement and enforce policies and procedures governing receiving and warehousing operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement warehouse operational procedures for goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, returns to stock, staging, and quality control/assurance.
- Lead daily warehouse and receiving activities and warehouse operators ensuring the expected safety and performance standards are met. Monitor workloads and shifts as needed to ensure the success of the group.
- Implement training programs and ensure employees maintain required training and certifications. Provide coaching to employees; participate in performance management process/discussions and in the selection process for staffing of future open positions.
- Enforce strict adherence to inventory control procedures, ensuring full SOX compliance including segregation of duties, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Ensure accurate SAP transactions and system integrity; maintain cycle count programs and lead annual physical inventory.
- Oversee HazMat handling and storage per OSHA, DOT, and SDS guidelines. Maintain up-to-date HazMat documentation and employee training records.
- Implement and maintain warehouse layout, material flow, and storage systems that maximize space utilization and minimize handling.
- Establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals; develop/track key performance indicators (KPI); utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop short- and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory; engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement; strive to achieve best in class status.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy. Ensure cycle count goals are met and 100% complete by year end. Responsible for organizing and leading year end physical inventory.
- Accountable for inventory management of raw material, consumables, and spare parts ensuring proper storage, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance.
- Provide support to auditors (Finance, Safety, etc.); develop responses to address any deficiencies.
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with internal business partners to create robust, sustainable relationships. Proactively plan/align warehouse strategies to business partner goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, and procedures, including SOX requirements.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for warehouse activities and requirements, and other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field. Or 10 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations in an industrial environment.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising/managing warehouse operations.
- Strong experience with ERP and MRP systems. SAP is a plus.
- Warehouse management experience in a mining/refining/construction/industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of LEAN or Six Sigma principles.

Working Conditions - Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
