Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Shipping Operations: Manage the daily operations of the shipping department, including scheduling, loading, and dispatching shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of warehouse workers, including forklift operators, and drivers, to achieve departmental goals.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory control teams to ensure accurate stock levels and proper handling of goods during shipping.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient shipping procedures to improve productivity, reduce errors, and lower costs.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all shipping activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety standards and transportation laws.
- Quality Control: Monitor the condition of outgoing shipments to ensure products meet quality standards and are properly packaged to prevent damage.
- Documentation: Oversee the preparation of shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork for international shipments.
- Customer Service: Collaborate with customer service teams to address shipping-related inquiries or issues, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, shipping accuracy, and cost efficiency, and report findings to management.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all shipping equipment, such as forklifts are maintained and operated safely.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or shipping operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
