Your Team Responsibilities
MSCI is seeking a Sustainability & Climate Client Specialist to join the New York office. As Client Specialist you will be part of a team that is a leading provider of Sustainability & Climate data and research to institutional investors globally. In this role you will be managing relationships for a territory of clients that span some of the world’s largest financial institutions. You will learn MSCI Sustainability & Climate products and the client’s line of businesses and investment processes to guide them in leveraging our products across asset classes, to bring that knowledge together to provide insight and best practices to those organizations. As the Client Specialist your performance will be based on a combination of factors including account renewal rates, proactive management and client communication, contract value growth and pre-sales activities in cooperation with the sales and client service teams. After a client has begun using MSCI products, the Client Specialist manages the client experience and promotes adoption of subscribed solutions. This entails offering proactive educational support, expertise Sustainability & Climate as well as other services to ensure MSCI clients achieve their objectives.

- Serve as domain expert on MSCI Sustainability suite of products and master client objectives for integrating our solutions
- Help to manage client inquiry and issue resolution process using SalesForce.com and other internal tools
- Monitor and ensure client satisfaction through various projects or initiatives that support Specialist & Product teams
- Achieve target renewal and retention rate by monitoring a dedicated set of client accounts within certain financial segments, such as insurance, asset management, or asset owners, etc.
- Drive revenue growth with outstanding service and proactive engagement & relationship building
- Work closely with knowledgeable client Specialist team members to identify accounts at risk and create a plan to ensure revenue and client retention forecasting at risk business where appropriate, working with cross-functional teams to address issues in a timely manner
- Develop/drive account management plans for clients
- Conduct regular health checks on accounts
- Identify and communicate up-sell opportunities to sales team
- Build subject matter expertise in pre-sales/up-sell/training activities
- Establish the ability to become a liaison between client and internal teams for key client initiatives

- Experience and understanding of Sustainable investing and financial services
- Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills are critical
- Innovative, motivated, client-oriented and commercially-aware thinker
- Ability to manage projects and multitask independently
- A team player able to effectively manage the expectations of a diverse and demanding client base
- Absolute personal and business integrity
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in a client facing position in financial services or Sustainability
- Bachelors required
- Successful candidates will have exposure to Sustainable Investing or Finance and have interest in developing strong working relationships with external clients.
