Implement, conduct and continuously improve Safety Health, Sustainability (SHS) education, knowledge and performance at branches within the assigned geographic area, including, Smith System defensive driving training, weekly SHS training, annual internal audits, incident investigations and reporting, field level behavior based worker observations and coaching (BBO’s) and other tasks as requested by supervisor.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supports Area operations and office personnel in implementing and complying with SHS programs.
- Establishes regular visit schedules for all branches in the assigned geographic area.
- Conducts annual internal SHS audits and ensures follow up and corrective actions are completed.
- Assists Badger Occupational Health and Leave team in worker illness, injury, first aid, worker compensation claims, return to work and other applicable employee health matters as requested.
- Assists in incident and accident investigations, both internal and external, including root cause analysis, preparation of reports; incident summaries and management follow up.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or a combination of education and management experience that would be considered equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years college/university; 4 years preferred.
- Professional certification (CRSP or CSP) is an advantage.
- Must have and maintain clean driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and technical matters related to managing health and safety risk and prior experience in a field-supporting SHS role is an advantage.
- 5+ years’ experience preferred in the following Industries:
- Vacuum; Pump Trucks
- Construction
- Utilities
- Oil and Gas
- Waste collection
- Equipment rentals
