Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, self-motivated Swim Instructor to provide private lessons at clients’ home pools. In this role, you’ll adapt each session to the swimmer’s individual needs—whether it's building basic water comfort, learning to float, or improving stroke technique. Ideal candidates are dependable, love working with kids, and can create a positive, supportive environment. This is a flexible, independent contractor position with competitive pay and control over your own schedule.
Duties
- Provide private or small group swim lessons at clients’ home pools, customizing instruction based on each swimmer’s age, comfort level, and goals
- Evaluate students’ starting skill levels and adjust lesson plans accordingly to ensure consistent growth and confidence in the water
- Prioritize water safety at all times by maintaining clear expectations and encouraging proper behavior around the pool
- Offer positive, age-appropriate feedback to help students improve their technique and feel encouraged
- Bring and maintain your own teaching tools and ensure the pool area is safe before and during each session
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians after each lesson to share progress and recommendations
Skills
- Lifeguard certification and swim instructor experience is required
- Experience working with students in a teaching or coaching capacity is highly desirable.
- Ability to engage children and create a fun, supportive atmosphere for learning.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback.
- Patience and adaptability to work with diverse age groups and skill levels.
