Foreship (part of RINA) is currently recruiting for a Technical Project Manager to join our office in Helsinki/Turku/Hamburg within the Europe Marine Engineering Division.

Mission

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex cruise ship conversion projects, ensuringtechnical excellence, regulatory compliance, budget control, and client satisfaction. The role also contributes tonewbuilding and technology-driven projects, acting as a key link between clients, design teams, and internalstakeholders to ensure successful project execution from concept development through delivery. #FORESHIP

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage large, complex cruise ship conversion projects from early design phase through to final delivery.
  • Contribute as a key Project Manager in cruise ship newbuilding and ferry projects when required.
  • Actively participate in demanding ship design projects, primarily related to cruise ship conversions, in close collaboration with the Naval Architecture Engineering Department.
  • Contribute to the technical design by preparing drawings, documents and reports for client projects.
  • Support additional projects, including cruise ship newbuilding, ferry newbuilding, and new technologyinitiatives, as needed.
  • Define and manage project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource planning in alignment with clientexpectations and internal requirements.
  • Monitor and control project budget, schedule, risks, and quality throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including naval architects, engineers, and external partners, ensuringefficient collaboration and delivery.
  • Provide technical oversight and expertise in: general arrangement, technical specifications, classificationsociety rules and maritime regulations, safety and statutory requirements.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews, providing expertguidance and practical solutions.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant role (Project Engineer/Project Manager or similar) for cruise ship conversion projects and/or newbuildingprojects.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale maritime projects with full responsibility for scope, budget, andschedule.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ship design processes, particularly within cruise vessel conversion projects.
  • Solid understanding of general arrangement, ship systems integration, technical specifications withincomplex cruise ship projects.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime rules, regulations, and class requirements, with hands-on experience applyingthem during conversions.
  • Ability to confidently lead client meetings and technical discussions.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities undertight schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
