Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with ManTech!ManTech seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Writer to support our DoD contract out of Alexandria, VA. The Technical Writer will provide onsite support to government leadership in the Business Operations Division of the Secretariat for Special Operations (SSO), OASD SO/LIC.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Technical Writer will be proofreading and editing communications materials, including briefing documents, reports, and multimedia content; assisting in the research and development of communication products; and collaborating across a team to enhance the readability and effectiveness of communication materials.
- Analyze the subject and audience and present material clearly taking into consideration the most logical and effective narrative sequence, length, and tone based on SSO objectives, medium and the audience.
- Ensure that substantive facts, issues, conclusions, and recommendations are presented and discussed in an appropriate manner.
- Offer advice on structure of reports and documents. Solicit input and write original materials.
- Prepare guidance on formatting, organization of reports, grammar principles, and other issues and potentially conduct training to staff on writing standards.
- Conduct reviews of SSO products for style, design, layout, content and editorial aspects, including grammar before release
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a similar field of study and at least 5 years of experience in technical writing. Additional 2 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong Oral and Written Communications.
- Experience with DoD organizations
- Skilled at conveying complex ideas in clear, concise language
Clearance Requirements: Active Secret with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,500.00-$144,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
