About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Cybersecurity AI/ML Technology Director that has deep technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the development of AI/ML and Generative AI solutions in the Cybersecurity domain. This role requires a strong hands-on leader who can not only dive into architecture and design discussions but also bring forward-looking ideas and innovations that align with enterprise goals. You will play a pivotal role in shaping, building, and scaling a world-class engineering team that delivers secure, intelligent, and scalable AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML and GenAI solutions tailored for cybersecurity use cases.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, platform teams, and security experts to define roadmap and architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in AI, ML, GenAI, and cybersecurity to introduce innovative approaches and tools.
  • Guide the adoption and implementation of enterprise AI/ML platforms, as well as champion custom-built solutions when needed.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Ensure engineering practices meet the highest standards of security, performance, and scalability.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Define and track KPIs and OKRs for engineering execution, team growth, and solution impact.
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standard
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience delivering AI/ML and GenAI solutions, preferably in cybersecurity or a related high-security domain.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning lifecycle, LLMs, MLOps practices, model deployment and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with enterprise cybersecurity use cases and data sources (e.g., logs, telemetry, user behavior, threat intelligence).
  • Hands-on experience with modern data and AI stacks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark, Hugging Face, Vertex AI, Databricks, LangChain, Vector DBs, etc.).
  • Experience designing scalable microservices and data pipelines in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and integrate third-party enterprise tools and open-source frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience building and nurturing strong, diverse engineering teams.
  • Experience with Generative AI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, LLaMA, etc.) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
