Job Summary
This position supports a contract for Wakulla County, FL Information Technology (IT) Services. The Cybersecurity Analyst will play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the County's cybersecurity posture. The analyst will support endpoint detection, ensure compliance with state regulations, provide user-level threat reporting, and deliver security guidance for remote and on-premises environments. This is a remote position requiring proactive engagement in audit support, risk mitigation, and policy enforcement.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support and assist in conducting IT security audits and producing audit-ready documentation.
- Administer Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) using SentinelOne, including active mitigation and reporting of all findings.
- Provide baseline network and endpoint security monitoring for all connected devices.
- Ensure adherence to relevant cybersecurity compliance standards and regulations, including the current State of Florida Statutes.
- Implement and maintain SSL/TLS inspection across the network to detect malicious activity.
- Deliver granular security reporting to the user level, including threats blocked, websites visited, and policy violations per County cybersecurity policy.
- Support remote users and devices regardless of physical location, ensuring seamless protection.
- Ensure security of all endpoints, including Windows PCs, macOS devices, and mobile devices (Apple iOS, Android).
- Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) for all applications accessed remotely.
- Collaborate with IT teams to refine policies and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation of cybersecurity procedures, configurations, and compliance controls.
- Stay current on industry best practices, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
- CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, endpoint security, or network monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with SentinelOne or similar EDR tools.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, audit procedures, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in implementing SSL/TLS inspection and ZTNA frameworks.
- Ability to analyze and report on threats, trends, and user behavior with precision.
- Experience supporting remote and mobile users across multiple device platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and documentation habits.
- Ability to work independently and respond to cybersecurity issues in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with Florida state cybersecurity compliance regulations is a plus.
