Position Overview:
Freddie Mac has an exciting opportunity for a Testing Manager to manage and lead a Testing Portfolio. We are seeking a motivated individual who can provide leadership, direction and guidance to a focused workgroup and drive rationalization of testing frameworks across the portfolio. As a senior member of the Enterprise Operations & Technology team, the individual would either independently lead the solution delivery of a project, program or the entire portfolio from a testing perspective. The individual will be a role model and a mentor to the senior test leads, working alongside of highly collaborative, open minded, technology savvy team members.

Your Impact:
- As a manager, the individual is expected to develop resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. She/he must exert considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
- Understand testing needs and processes, identify solutions and guide Test team in identifying best solution. Translate broad strategies into specific action plans, utilizing existing resources and information to achieve strategic objectives and improve business results
- The individual is expected to employ extensive professional expertise with experience in creating and implementing technical test solutions, processes and practices across large projects and programs.
- Contribute to the enhancement of testing standards, tools and processes.
- Interface with business for issue resolution. Communicate with project managers, initiative leads and test leads on the project requirements, plan detailed tasks, and schedule development effort of Test scripts and execution.
- Understand the test cases / scenarios across multiple projects and provides input and guidance.
- Lead technical transformation within the team moving from a manual testing approach to an automation approach
- Work closely with test teams, developers, business and vendor partners to drive and promote technical design in all our engineering processes
- Drive the team to become more adaptable in quality assurance through test automation, and Continuous Testing practices
- Proactively contribute to the growth of a high performing testing and quality engineering team.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience using Test Management, Defect Tracking, Requirements Management, and Modeling tools, including automated testing tools framework
- BS in Computer Science or Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience from which knowledge and skills may be obtained.
- 7 of experience in a test management or program management capacity or role
- Experienced in creating, maintaining and utilizing reusable test harnesses and driving efficiencies across the portfolio
- Highly technical individual with analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Experience in leading a test team or a project team and acting as a mentor for less experienced test leads or project managers
- Ability to think through complex testing plans and derive solutions
- Anchors defect prevention activities, implements the defect management plan. Conducts defect triage meetings. Apply broad technical knowledge and skills to analyze, develop and implement solutions for process improvements, trouble-shooting and new product development support in assigned area
- Engage with the project teams at deep level when there is a need and making use of the best available test techniques, strategies tools given scope of situation
- Use technical expertise to identify, adopt and/or develop more effective strategies and provide thought leadership in testing and developing applications
- Ability to analyze testing metrics and trends and recommend actions to address areas of concern
- Experience in understanding the architecture of complex applications
- Validated knowledge of industry standard automation test tools like Selenium, Protractor etc
- Experience with Cucumber (Gherkin) for BDD/collaboration and test automation purposes
- AWS knowledge required
- Expertise in working with DevOps implementation
- Experience with successful Agile/SCRUM team delivering test automation
- Solid Project Management Skills

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $138,000 - $208,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
