Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining and fabrication, with the ability to create and maintain precision tools and dies used in manufacturing processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency with various precision measuring instruments.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures used in production processes.
- Utilize machining techniques including milling, turning, and grinding to create precise components.
- Program and operate CNC machines as needed for tool production.
- Employ Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) techniques for intricate designs.
- Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop tooling solutions that meet production requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling specifications and modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling performance during production runs.
- Implement best practices for safety and efficiency in the workplace.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for designing tooling components.
- Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus.
- Experience with stamping presses and the ability to fabricate complex parts from metal or plastic materials.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and practices, including programming CNC machines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
