The ideal candidate will be a licensed MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) or CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) with at least 2 years of hands-on experience working with LCMS analyzers. You’ll play a critical role in managing laboratory workflow, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing staff, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of test results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the General Supervisor per Nevada state regulations, overseeing daily lab operations
- Supervise, train, and schedule laboratory personnel to ensure efficient and compliant workflow
- Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, equipment maintenance, and budget tracking
- Coordinate and prepare for state inspections, CLIA audits, and other regulatory reviews
- Perform and document LCMS method validations, screening analyzer validations and quality control procedures
- Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure staff adherence
- Manage LIMS operations, data integrity, and electronic result release workflows
- Review, interpret, and troubleshoot LCMS data for clinical result accuracy and timely reporting
- Collaborate with leadership on performance improvement and strategic planning
- Ensure all laboratory processes meet CLIA, CAP, and state requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed MLS or CLS
- Must meet the General Supervisor qualifications per State of Nevada Health Department
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with LCMS instruments in a clinical or toxicology setting
- Strong working knowledge of LCMS data interpretation, sample prep, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a laboratory environment
- Familiarity with LIMS platforms, quality systems, and laboratory informatics
- Excellent communication, organization, and personnel management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a clinical toxicology or high-complexity CLIA-certified lab
- Knowledge of method development, mass spectrometry software, and SOP writing
- Prior involvement in state/federal audits and quality assurance programs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment with minimal supervision
