Work Location: Hybrid - In Salem office minimally once per week
The Association of Oregon Community Health Programs (AOCMHP) is seeking applicants passionate about mental health promotion and suicide prevention to lead training programs in these areas. This position will make a meaningful impact and play a key role in building innovative statewide programs, partnerships and training infrastructure within the new subsidiary nonprofit organization ORBHIT (Oregon Research, Behavioral Health Innovation, and Training).
The Training Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to trainers, building state and local partnerships in support of these programs, and to track and report activities to ensure that program objectives are met.
The successful candidate will be expected to obtain certification in the training programs that will be directly supported by this position, to include Oregon CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) and a mental health promotion training program, as determined.
Responsibilities include:
Training Coordination & Trainer Support (60%)
● Plan and coordinate program activities to support trainers.
● Design and facilitate monthly Learning Collaborative meetings for trainers
● Develop instructor resource network and supports.
● Provide technical assistance to instructors/trainers with trainer portal access, course submission, course troubleshooting, and certification requirements.
● Assist with planning and recruiting for instructor trainings to expand geographic representation and community needs of instructor pools in Oregon, as funding allows.
● Serve as liaison between trainer and training developers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Administrative, Logistical, & Reporting Duties (25%)
● Field training requests to support trainers and organizations by recruiting instructors, co-facilitators, and setting up training logistics.
● Assist trainers with course preparation and materials. Provide information about course support to organizations/trainers.
● Collect and report activity data from statewide network of instructors.
● Track and report program progress to Oregon Health Authority and other funding agencies/organizations.
● Provide support to other programs as needed and time permits.
Outreach (15%)
● Support outreach to state and local partners to strengthen statewide training programs.
● Support promotion of trainings to various groups at conferences, workshops, and community events and provide information through tabling opportunities.
● Initiate efforts to reach populations with insufficient penetration: Veterans, Tribes and communities who speak Spanish as a first language.
Travel requirements:
Position based in Salem; Some travel in Oregon will be required to assist with courses, instructor trainings, and promotional events, estimated to be once per month.
Desired Qualifications:
● Current instructor certification in one or more suicide prevention and mental health promotion trainings.
● Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
● Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
● Skilled in outreach, stakeholder engagement, and community building.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
● Bilingual in Spanish a plus
● Comfortable with public speaking, presentations, and facilitating discussions.
● Experience in website content creation, management, and updates.
● Ability to analyze and interpret data for reporting and decision-making.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other productivity tools.
Education & Experience:
● Bachelor's degree in related field (Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
● At least 3 years’ project coordination/management experience in related field required.
Salary:
Minimum starting salary is $60,000. Higher starting salary is commensurate with experience.
Additional 5% Differential offered for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English
