Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of transportation operations. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in logistics management. The Dispatcher will be responsible for managing fleet operations and utilizing transportation management systems to optimize delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule trips to ensure timely delivery of passenger.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and vendors to relay information regarding dispatches.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Monitor fleet operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Address any issues or delays in transportation promptly and efficiently.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when interacting with customers and team members.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to streamline logistics processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or a similar role within the logistics industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of fleet management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of logistics operations, including routing, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
