The Volunteer Experience Coordinator plays a critical role in creating rewarding experiences for patients, families and volunteers. S/he typically partners with social workers within Community Hospice to oversee/schedule volunteer visits with patients and family members throughout the Jacksonville metro area. In addition, the coordinator attends and participates in new volunteer recruitment and onboarding related activities.

- Primary On-Site Job Location: Mayo Clinic satellite branch office (McGraw Center); 4715 Worrall Wy, Jacksonville, FL 32224
- Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Compensation: $42-46K base salary plus full benefits package, including 23 days rollover PTO annual

Primary Responsibilities
With a focus on leveraging the unique skills and passions of Community Hospice volunteers, the Volunteer Experience Coordinator satisfies all requests for Volunteer Services in a timely manner. S/he actively works with and builds positive relationships with various patient's interdisciplinary group (IDG). This includes, but is not limited to, initiatives in recruitment, retention, appreciation, volunteer satisfaction and other activities designed to attract and retain a high quality, fully engaged volunteer base.
- Proactively works with members of various clinical team's IDGs promoting volunteer programs and create or identify new and/or additional opportunities for Volunteer placements
- Develops volunteer teams dedicated to fulfilling the mission of specific programs
- Identifies, contacts and assigns qualified individual(s) to fulfill requested volunteer experiences in a timely manner
- Considers unique skills, interests and passions of volunteers during the selection process to make the best possible match between patient and volunteer
- Makes direct contact with patients and/or family members as appropriate to identify how to best serve their volunteer needs
- Communicates important details to volunteers regarding requests so they feel empowered and prepared to provide a compassionate and memorable experience
- Engages in constant and effective communication with Volunteer Engagement team to provide guidance on skills and resources needed if/as necessary to support programs
- Sends appropriate reminders of upcoming experiences to assigned volunteers
- Creates, administers and analyzes quarterly Client satisfaction surveys; draws conclusions and provides recommendations based on analysis of the data.
- Inactivates volunteers based on established criteria to ensure database is up to date
- Develops efficient and innovative ways to communicate opportunities to the volunteer base
- Updates the patient's plan of care (POC) as appropriate
- Assists with volunteer appreciation events; researches best practices in volunteer utilization
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications:
- Associates Degree (minimum) or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Two+ years of recruiting, customer service, volunteer, or related experience preferred
- Hospice or other not for profit and/or healthcare industry experience a plus
Desired Knowledge & Skills
- Recruiting/placement or related work experience preferred
- Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service ability; bility to work independently
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple activities

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
