The Vice President of Corporate Strategy will lead the strategic direction of the organization with a particular emphasis on driving profitable growth and innovation in precision diagnostics. This executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s market positioning, identifying emerging opportunities in genomics, digital health, and clinical decision support to advance personalized medicine.
Key Responsibilities Enterprise Strategy Development
- Support development of Myriad’s long-range strategic vision that positions the company as a leader in precision diagnostics across multiple product categories and clinical channels.
- Partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership to develop mid- and long-range strategic plans, including recommendations on where and how Myriad deploys capital and resources that give the company the greatest chance of success in achieving growth goals.
- Partner with senior leadership to set business priorities aligned to competitive and clinical adoption trends, and advancements in data science and AI-enhanced diagnostics.
- Partner with the CFO and Myriad’s analytics team to develop long-range financial plans that maximize return on invested capital and improve profitability.
Corporate Development & Growth Initiatives
- Partner with Business Development to evaluate strategic acquisitions, licensing opportunities, and joint ventures that align to Myriad’s strategy and enhance the diagnostic pipeline, platform capabilities, and market reach.
Innovation & Technology Trends
- Monitor disruptive technologies in diagnostic tools, biomarker discovery, and AI/ML applications in healthcare and partner with the Chief Scientific Officer and other relevant executives to assess impact and opportunities.
- Translate scientific and market insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
Market and Commercial Strategy
- Lead enterprise-level market, provider, and patient research and insights to evaluate trends, competitive dynamics, and unmet needs across diagnostics and precision medicine.
- Develop robust customer segmentation frameworks to inform enterprise planning, resource allocation, and product strategy.
- Provide strategic recommendations that guide long-range portfolio direction, improve patient access, and support data-driven decision making across clinical and commercial functions.
Cross-Functional Strategic Leadership
- Partner with Clinical Product Management to align cross-functional stakeholders across Clinical/Medical Affairs, Product, Regulatory, Commercial, and Operations to ensure integrated strategic execution.
- Facilitate leadership workshops and high-level strategic reviews to keep teams focused on mission-critical initiatives.
Deliverables
- Annual refresh of market mega-trends and assessment of Myriad’s corporate portfolio.
- Regular updates as needed to reflect market, competitive, and provider shifts.
- Strategic business assumptions and recommendations that inform Commercial and Product strategy as well as long-range financial plans.
- Executive-level analysis, presentations, and strategic communications for the Board of Directors, CEO, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, or similar); MBA or equivalent business training strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of strategic leadership experience, including roles in diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare.
- Deep understanding of precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, health data ecosystems, and regulatory pathways.
- Experience in market segmentation, customer and brand research and insights.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven track record of driving business transformation and growth.
