Job Description
An Equipment Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for applying knowledge of engineering, electro-mechanical systems, mathematics, software, and computer sciences to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing equipment issues in a clean room environment.
Qualifications
- Collaborate with Line Maintenance and Process Engineering to troubleshoot problems & supporting wafer manufacturing.
- Work with vendors and contractors to install, start up, and learn new semiconductor equipment.
- Support of Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment to improve throughput and reduce downtime including procurement, installation, upgrades, design modifications, troubleshooting failures, reducing operating costs.
- Conduct equipment failure analysis and review trends to make performance improvements.
- Troubleshoot and repair assigned equipment using troubleshooting techniques and hand tools.
- Regularly interface with Management, Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and other work groups for priorities and equipment status.
- Provide expert support to resolve unscheduled equipment down events.
- Promotes and adheres to all safety and cleanroom policies.
- Train maintenance technicians as needed on systems to improve 24x7 response time.
- Manage design decisions for installation of new semiconductor equipment within the cleanroom, including the routing of facility connections to the equipment
- Anticipating consumable part failures and ordering sufficient spare parts ahead of time
- Manage and plan the execution of scheduled and routine maintenance
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education.
- Must have the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Ability to create and maintain operating and training documents and manuals.
- Strong communications skills with various audiences from vendors to fellow engineers to operators.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Hands on experience.
- Ability to work and gown-up in a cleanroom environment and spend significant time on the factory floor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulic, cooling systems/refrigeration.
- Electronic troubleshooting
- Experience with design and manufacturing – CAD, basic machining, 3D printing.
- Knowledge of FMEA.
- Knowledge of basic electronics – Component identification, Ohms law, Power law
- Experience working with and around highly toxic chemicals and gases
- Technician experience is a plus
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment.
- Experience writing Preventative Maintenance work procedures
- Strong understanding of Semiconductor processes
- Experience with Wet Etch Semiconductor Equipment. Experience with the following OEMs and models is a plus: FSI Mercury, TEL Zeta, Spray Acid Tool (SAT), Semitool Spray Solvent Tool (SST), AP&S, LAM DV-Prime (DVP+), SEZ 203, Screen SS-80EX
- Experience with Over Pad Metallization (OPM) platting equipment and processes

- This role will work on site in Roseville, CA.

- This position works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary.
- May require some domestic or international travel.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $120,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
