Mt. Vernon Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Worship Leader for our 8:45 worship service. The ideal candidate should have a strong spiritual foundation, a talent for leading worship, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. This role requires a commitment to serving God and the congregation. fostering an atmosphere of praise and spiritual growth within our church as we lift up the name of Jesus!
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead worship services, including selecting and rehearsing music, coordinating the worship team, and communicating with the congregation.
- Collaborate with the lead pastor and worship team to ensure a cohesive flow between music, scripture, and sermon.
- Provide spiritual leadersip and direction for the worship team, ensuring the focus remains on God and His glory.
- Communitate effectively with the congregation, ensuring that the message of the gospel is clearly conveyed through worship.
- Organize rehearsals for the worship team, ensuring all members are prepared for upcoming services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the congreation, building trust and fostering a sense of community .
- Stay current with contemporary worship trends while respecting traditional practices as appropriate.
Skills
- Strong spiritual foundation and a passion for leading worship.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor others.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and teachings to the worship team.
- Experience in leading worship teams and coordinating rehearsals.
- Knowledge of worship styles.
- Proficient in vocal performance and instrument (e.g., guitar or piano).
- Knowledge of Easy Worship or ProPresenter.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the church community.
- Knowledge of sound systems helpful but not required.
