Job description
The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial and operational data to support business planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and strategic decision-making. The role provides management with timely financial insights, identifies trends and cost drivers, monitors business performance, and supports financial planning and analysis across the organization.
The role will work closely with the Leadership Team and stakeholders to translate financial data into actionable insights and help improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

I. Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, financial plans, and rolling forecasts.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Prepare financial projections based on business plans, operational assumptions, and historical performance.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess potential business outcomes.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast and identify significant variances.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to understand assumptions and drivers behind financial results.
- Provide timely updates on financial outlook, risks, and potential areas requiring management attention.
II. Management Reporting & Business Insights
- Prepare regular financial and management reports for leadership review.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, headcount costs, and other key financial and operational indicators.
- Conduct variance and trend analysis and provide clear explanations of significant movements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Consolidate financial and operational data from different sources to provide a complete view of business performance.
- Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for management.
- Prepare presentations and materials for management and business review meetings.
- Perform ad hoc financial and business analysis as required by leadership.
III. Cost & Profitability Analysis
- Monitor operating expenses and spending against approved budgets.
- Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Conduct profitability analysis across departments, projects, services, or business activities.
- Analyze headcount and manpower-related costs in relation to business requirements and operational performance.
- Support cost-benefit analysis for proposed initiatives and business decisions.
- Identify areas of financial risk, inefficiency, or potential savings and provide recommendations.
- Work with department heads to improve budget utilization and financial accountability.
IV. Business Decision Support
- Support management in evaluating new initiatives, investments, and strategic projects through financial analysis.
- Evaluate different scenarios and provide financial insights to support decision making.
- Assess the financial impact of operational changes, including workforce planning, expansion, resource allocation, and other business initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders to understand operational challenges and translate them into financial implications.
- Provide data-driven recommendations that support business growth and financial sustainability.
V. Financial Data, Dashboards & Process Improvement
- Develop and improve financial dashboards to provide management with timely visibility into business performance.
- Use Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and other available tools to organize, analyze, and present financial information.
- Establish standardized reporting processes and improve the efficiency of financial planning and reporting activities.
- Support the continuous improvement of Finance processes, tools, and reporting practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- CPA is an advantage but not required.
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or business analysis.
- Experience in a startup, SME, multinational company, BPO/shared services environment, or other fast-paced organization is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and financial modeling.
- Experience with Power BI, ERP systems, accounting software, or other business intelligence tools is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, business acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Additional relevant knowledge or experience related to the above requirements will be considered an advantage.
