Your Day To Day

Support Overall Laundry Operations

  • Assist the Laundry Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations of the Laundry and Uniform Room.
  • Ensure hotel linen, towels, uniforms, guest laundry, and F&B linen are processed, handled, stored, and distributed in accordance with hotel standards and operating procedures.
  • Ensure laundry operations are adequately staffed and organised according to business levels, occupancy, events, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor workflow between collection, sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, finishing, storage, and distribution.
  • Ensure operational continuity during peak periods, high occupancy, special events, and manpower shortages.
  • Act as the person in charge of the Laundry operation in the absence of the Laundry Manager.

Laundry Quality & Standards

  • Ensure all processed laundry meets established quality, hygiene, presentation, and finishing standards.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and outsourced F&B linen.
  • Monitor issues such as stains, discolouration, shrinkage, damage, poor finishing, or incorrect washing processes and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate quality control procedures throughout the laundry process.
  • Work with relevant departments to identify recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures.

Linen Management & Par Stock Control

  • Monitor hotel linen inventory and maintain appropriate par levels according to hotel requirements and occupancy.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and other operational departments to ensure sufficient availability of bed linen, bath linen, towels, and other textile items.
  • Conduct regular linen counts and investigate discrepancies, shortages, excessive consumption, and unexplained losses.
  • Monitor linen discard, damage, stains, and replacement requirements.
  • Recommend linen replacement and purchasing requirements based on operational needs and linen condition.
  • Support the implementation of effective linen control procedures to minimise losses and unnecessary replacement costs.

Uniform Room Management

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Uniform Room and ensure uniforms are properly received, cleaned, pressed, repaired, stored, issued, and returned.
  • Maintain accurate uniform inventory and ensure adequate stock availability for all departments.
  • Coordinate uniform fittings, new joiner requirements, transfers, replacements, and leavers' uniform clearance.
  • Monitor uniform condition and recommend replacement, repair, or disposal when required.
  • Ensure uniform records are maintained accurately and confidentially.

Guest Laundry Operations

  • Ensure guest laundry is handled with care and processed within the required turnaround time.
  • Ensure guest laundry is properly checked, tagged, recorded, cleaned, finished, packaged, and returned according to hotel standards.
  • Monitor guest laundry billing and ensure charges are accurately recorded and communicated to the relevant department.
  • Investigate and resolve guest laundry issues, including missing, damaged, delayed, or incorrectly processed items.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and coordinate appropriate recovery actions when required.

External Laundry & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of outsourced laundry services, particularly F&B linen and other items sent to external service providers.
  • Monitor collection and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of outsourced linen.
  • Conduct quality checks on returned linen and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or quality concerns to the service provider.
  • Maintain accurate records of items sent and received from external laundry providers.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Finance on vendor documentation, invoices, service levels, and cost monitoring.
  • Support vendor performance reviews and recommend improvements where necessary.

Cost Control & Productivity

  • Assist the Laundry Manager in controlling departmental operating costs and achieving budgetary targets.
  • Monitor consumption of laundry chemicals, utilities, linen, uniforms, packaging materials, and other operating supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce wastage, improve productivity, and optimise resource utilisation.
  • Monitor laundry productivity against workload and manpower levels.
  • Review operational practices and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Support monthly departmental reporting and budget preparation where required.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records relating to linen movements, uniform inventory, guest laundry, outsourced laundry, chemical usage, equipment maintenance, and departmental supplies.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports as required.
  • Monitor key operational indicators and highlight significant variances or concerns to the Laundry Manager.
  • Ensure all relevant checklists, logs, records, and departmental documentation are completed accurately and maintained appropriately.
  • Support departmental audits and ensure identified gaps are followed up and closed within the required timeframe.

Operational Leadership & Business Continuity

  • Act as a key operational leader within the Laundry department and take ownership of daily operational challenges.
  • Make appropriate operational decisions within the scope of authority to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Support emergency and contingency arrangements in the event of equipment breakdowns, manpower shortages, delayed external laundry deliveries, or unexpected increases in workload.
  • Ensure appropriate communication and escalation to the Laundry Manager and relevant hotel leaders when significant operational risks arise.

What We Need From You

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping supervisory experience, preferably in an international hotel brand.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, laundry operations, and chemical safety.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Opera, HotSOS) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Passionate about cleanliness, guest service, and team development.
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
