Are you a friendly, organised and people-focused professional who enjoys helping others? Local Doctors Mt Roskill is looking for a proactive Medical Receptionist to join our team.

As one of the first points of contact for patients, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience. Working in a busy GP and Urgent Care environment, you'll interact with patients attending for everything from routine healthcare appointments and ongoing health needs to unexpected illnesses and injuries.

Whether you're welcoming patients, coordinating appointments or supporting our clinical team, your contribution will help ensure patients and their whānau feel informed, supported and well cared for.

About the Role

This is a varied, people-focused position where no two days are quite the same. Working alongside our doctors, nurses and wider administration team, you'll help keep the clinic running smoothly while supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Local Doctors Mt Roskill provides both general practice and urgent care services, including walk-in consultations seven days a week. You'll be part of a dynamic healthcare environment where teamwork, adaptability and a positive patient experience are essential.

The position offers 32 hours per week, providing an opportunity to contribute to a busy, community-focused clinic while building your experience in primary healthcare.

What You'll Be Doing

• Welcoming patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
• Managing appointments, bookings, cancellations and patient enquiries
• Registering patients and maintaining accurate patient records
• Answering phone calls and coordinating appointments
• Supporting the flow of patients attending both booked appointments and walk-in urgent care
• Processing payments and supporting front desk operations
• Providing administrative support to doctors, nurses and the wider clinical team
• Helping maintain an organised, efficient and patient-focused reception environment
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure patients receive a positive experience

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, adapts well to changing priorities and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service is preferred. Experience in a medical practice, urgent care or healthcare environment is an advantage, but not essential.

Located on Richardson Road in Central Auckland, Local Doctors Mt Roskill Medical and Surgical Centre provides accessible general practice and urgent care services to the local community and surrounding areas.

Open seven days a week, the clinic supports patients with everything from everyday health concerns and ongoing condition management to accidents, injuries and urgent medical needs. Patients can walk in or book appointments, with on-site X-ray and pharmacy services providing additional convenience and connected care.
