About the role
We’re looking for a delivery focused Project Manager to fill an exciting role in Barfoot & Thompsons Support Centre. This position works closely with executive and senior management, leading and driving system and/or process change projects throughout the wider business.
As the Project Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to bring together the right people from across internal teams for each project, before leading these projects from kick off through to completion. This is a standalone role, with the responsibility of ownership of the project portfolio, while working closely with stakeholders across the wider business. This role requires someone with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to tackle major roadblocks with knowledge and decisiveness, and comfort with managing a range of projects at once.
The successful candidate will have Project and/or Programme Manager experience with the ability to lead and guide cross-functional team members. A high level of stakeholder management, organisation and time management is key and attention to detail needs to be paired with bigger picture, strategic programme thinking.
The Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager, has a high degree of autonomy, and should appeal to a Project Manager with experience and a track record of delivering high-level projects with successful outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent position based primarily in Auckland CBD with flexibility.
Skills & experience:
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in Project and/or Programme Management, with a track record of delivering successful outcomes
- Experience working with known project management methodologies
- Experience using project management software
- Be organised and have exceptional time management
- Excellent communication, listening and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, adapting as requirements change
- Confident bringing people together, assigning tasks and keeping teams accountable
- Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand
Key role responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and assistance to each project team while overseeing delivery
- Make sure that projects are running on time - managing deadlines and base frameworks
- Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress
- Organise and maintain regular team project meetings
- Deliver project outcomes to stakeholders
- Report on and record all company projects
- Communicate with the executive leadership and senior management team and wider management team across the company, i.e. Branch Managers, with updates or assistance where necessary
- Work to identify or resolve issues, roadblocks and opportunities
- Help promote a company culture that encourages high performance
