Tūranga Mahi | Position Overview
Te Nehenehenui is seeking an experienced and values-driven Project Manager to join our Waihikurangi team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead meaningful projects that support iwi aspirations, strengthen whānau outcomes, and contribute to the long-term success of Maniapoto.
Based in Te Kūiti or Hamilton, you will work alongside senior leaders, delivery teams, funders, government agencies, marae, hapū and iwi stakeholders to deliver projects from concept through to completion. The role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve their intended outcomes.
Reporting to the GM Waihikurangi, you will provide project leadership across a diverse portfolio of initiatives, overseeing planning, implementation, governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and project performance. You will play a key role in securing and managing funding, monitoring budgets, managing risks, and ensuring strong project outcomes aligned to organisational aspirations.
Key
responsibilities
· Lead projects from initial concept through to delivery and post-project reporting.
· Develop project plans, business cases, project briefs and funding applications.
· Monitor budgets, forecasts, risks, timelines and project performance.
· Provide accurate governance, financial and project reporting.
· Facilitate project meetings, maintain project documentation and track actions.
· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
· Support the integration of tikanga, Maniapoto values and aspirations into project delivery.
Ngā Pūkenga | Skill/Role Requirements
· Relevant qualification in Project Management, Applied Management, Business Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
· Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
· Experience managing budgets, resources, timelines and project workflows.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
· Experience preparing reports, business cases and funding documentation.
· Competence with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
· Understanding of, or experience working with, Māori organisations, iwi, hapū, marae and communities.
· A current full driver's licence.
· Knowledge of Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori.
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti or Hamilton Office.
