Role Purpose:
Act as the lead finance business partner for VEON's Payments & Digital Assets business, providing financial planning, analysis, and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and performance management across the wallets, remittances, payments, and digital assets portfolio.
The role will bring rigorous financial discipline to a fast-growing, entrepreneurial business, translating complex commercial and operational activity into clear financial narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
· Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for the Payments & Digital Assets business.
· Build and maintain robust financial models covering revenue, unit economics, cost base, and profitability across wallet, remittance, and digital asset product lines.
· Track actual performance against budget and forecast, explaining variances and identifying corrective actions.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
· Act as finance business partner to product, commercial, and operating teams, embedding financial rigor into day-to-day decision-making.
· Evaluate pricing, corridor economics, and partner commercial terms to ensure sustainable margins and healthy unit economics.
· Provide financial input into new market entry, product launches, and partnership negotiations.
Investment & Business Case Support
· Develop and stress-test business cases for new products, markets, and strategic initiatives, including ROI, payback, and sensitivity analysis.
· Support capital allocation decisions by evaluating competing investment opportunities across the portfolio.
· Partner with corporate development and treasury on funding requirements and financing structures where relevant.
Reporting & Performance Management
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reporting packs for senior leadership and Board-level discussions.
· Develop and maintain KPI and unit economics dashboards to track performance across markets and product lines.
· Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with Group finance standards and controls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Coordinate with Group finance, treasury, tax, and controllership functions to ensure alignment and compliance.
· Work closely with local operating company finance teams to ensure consistent reporting and data quality.
· Support ad hoc strategic and financial analysis requested by senior leadership
Profile:
· 10+ years of experience in Finance, with a strong background in FP&A and/or Commercial Finance.
· FinTech, payments, digital wallets, or financial services industry experience strongly preferred.
· Advanced financial modelling skills, with the ability to build and stress-test complex, multi-market models.
· Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial analysis into clear, actionable business recommendations.
· Experience partnering with product, commercial, and operating teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across multiple markets.
