Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI) Quality Assurance Consultant to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation program for a leading Oil & Gas organization in Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will join an Independent Quality Assurance (QA) team responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and validating SAP Finance solutions and implementation deliverables developed by the System Integrator (SI).
The role requires extensive functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting (FI), General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Financial Closing, Credit and Collections Management, Vendor Invoice Management, and Financial Compliance Reporting.
The consultant will independently assess financial solution designs, validate business processes, review system integration and testing activities, identify implementation risks, and ensure compliance with SAP S/4HANA leading practices and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The engagement will follow a phase-wise deployment model across an approximately 24-month SAP transformation program, requiring onsite participation in Saudi Arabia during designated project phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Assurance
- Independently review and evaluate SAP S/4HANA Finance solution designs, configurations, and functional specifications.
- Assess financial organizational structures, company codes, chart of accounts, ledgers, posting structures, and financial reporting requirements.
- Validate Universal Journal design, ledger configurations, and parallel accounting requirements.
- Review financial master data, accounting principles, document types, posting rules, and financial controls.
- Assess the alignment of SAP Finance processes with business requirements, statutory obligations, and SAP leading practices.
- Identify functional gaps, design inconsistencies, configuration risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
2. General Ledger and Financial Accounting
- Review General Ledger (GL) design, chart of accounts, account determination, and financial posting structures.
- Assess Universal Journal integration and ledger configuration, including parallel accounting requirements.
- Validate financial document processing, journal entries, posting controls, and account reconciliation procedures.
- Review financial reporting structures, profit center-related reporting integration, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls and accounting accuracy across legal entities.
- Identify risks affecting financial data integrity, accounting compliance, and reporting reliability.
3. Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay Integration
- Review Accounts Payable (AP) solution designs and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
- Assess supplier master data, vendor invoice processing, payment terms, payment runs, and reconciliation procedures.
- Validate integration between SAP Finance, Materials Management (MM), procurement, and payment processing.
- Review invoice verification, approval workflows, payment controls, and exception handling.
- Assess withholding tax, VAT-related accounting, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Evaluate automation opportunities and financial controls within supplier payment processes.
4. Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections Management
- Review Accounts Receivable (AR) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) integration designs.
- Assess customer master data, invoicing, incoming payments, account clearing, and reconciliation processes.
- Validate integration between SAP Finance and Sales and Distribution (SD).
- Review credit management, credit exposure monitoring, collection strategies, and dispute management processes.
- Assess customer payment allocation, overdue receivables, and financial reporting requirements.
- Identify functional gaps and risks affecting revenue recognition interfaces, receivables accuracy, and cash collection processes.
5. Asset Accounting and Fixed Asset Management
- Review SAP S/4HANA Asset Accounting solution designs and configurations.
- Assess asset master data structures, asset classes, depreciation areas, and accounting integration.
- Validate asset acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfer, retirement, and disposal processes.
- Review integration between Asset Accounting, General Ledger, procurement, and project-related processes.
- Evaluate depreciation calculations, asset valuation, and financial statement reporting.
- Assess asset reconciliation and financial controls applicable to capital-intensive Oil & Gas operations.
- Identify implementation risks affecting fixed asset accuracy, valuation, and financial reporting.
6. Financial Closing and Reconciliation Assurance
- Review period-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Assess financial close calendars, reconciliation procedures, approval workflows, and reporting requirements.
- Validate General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Accounting reconciliation designs.
- Review accruals, provisions, reclassifications, foreign currency valuation, and closing adjustments.
- Evaluate financial close automation, monitoring, and exception management capabilities.
- Assess financial close dependencies with Controlling, Treasury, and Group Reporting processes.
- Identify gaps that may affect financial reporting deadlines, accuracy, or completeness.
7. Financial Compliance and Statutory Reporting
- Review SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC) solution designs.
- Assess VAT processing, tax determination, statutory reporting, and electronic invoicing requirements.
- Validate alignment with applicable Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements, including ZATCA e-invoicing obligations.
- Review the design of tax codes, financial document reporting, and compliance-related interfaces.
- Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of statutory reporting data.
- Assess exception handling, audit trails, and controls supporting financial compliance.
- Identify regulatory and implementation risks affecting financial reporting and electronic invoicing.
8. Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and Invoice Automation
- Review Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) solution designs and integration with SAP Finance.
- Assess invoice capture, validation, approval workflows, exception handling, and posting procedures.
- Validate invoice automation requirements and integration with Accounts Payable and procurement processes.
- Review document processing controls, authorization workflows, and invoice reconciliation.
- Evaluate process efficiency, auditability, and compliance controls.
- Identify implementation gaps affecting invoice accuracy, payment processing, and operational performance.
9. Cross-Module and System Integration Assurance
- Review SAP Finance integration with relevant SAP modules, including:
- Controlling (CO)
- Materials Management (MM)
- Sales and Distribution (SD)
- Plant Maintenance (PM)
- Project Systems (PS)
- Treasury and Cash Management
- Group Reporting
- Asset Accounting
- Validate end-to-end financial postings across Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes.
- Assess integration with banking systems, invoice automation platforms, and external financial applications.
- Review financial data flows, account determination logic, interface controls, and reconciliation procedures.
- Identify integration gaps affecting financial accounting, reporting, and business operations.
10. Solution Design and Quality Gate Reviews
- Independently review Solution Design Documents (SDDs), functional specifications, configuration documentation, and integration designs.
- Validate solution completeness, functional accuracy, and alignment with approved business requirements.
- Assess adherence to SAP S/4HANA fit-to-standard principles and leading practices.
- Challenge proposed customizations, accounting treatments, and financial process designs where necessary.
- Conduct design assurance reviews and participate in formal project Quality Gate assessments.
- Evaluate implementation deliverables, unresolved issues, and milestone readiness.
- Document QA findings, recommendations, and corrective action requirements.
11. System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Review SIT strategies, test plans, scenarios, scripts, and expected outcomes.
- Validate testing coverage for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Financial Closing, VIM, and compliance reporting.
- Assess testing of end-to-end P2P and O2C integration processes.
- Review positive, negative, exception, and cross-module testing scenarios.
- Evaluate defect classification, resolution progress, retesting evidence, and testing exit criteria.
- Assess UAT readiness, business participation, scenario coverage, and acceptance criteria.
- Validate business sign-offs and identify testing gaps before deployment.
12. Data Migration and Financial Reconciliation Assurance
- Review SAP Finance data migration strategies, mapping, transformation rules, and load procedures.
- Assess migration of financial master data, chart of accounts, supplier and customer records, fixed assets, and opening financial balances.
- Evaluate data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and exception management procedures.
- Verify reconciliation between legacy financial systems and SAP S/4HANA.
- Review migration test results and financial data integrity controls.
- Identify risks affecting accounting accuracy, financial reporting, and business continuity.
13. Cutover, Go-Live and Post-Go-Live Assurance
- Review financial cutover strategies, deployment plans, and transition procedures.
- Assess cutover rehearsals, system dependencies, operational readiness, and contingency arrangements.
- Review financial data readiness, opening balances, reconciliation completion, and reporting capabilities.
- Evaluate rollback procedures and business continuity plans.
- Conduct independent Go-Live readiness assessments for SAP Finance functionality.
- Review unresolved defects, financial reconciliation issues, and compliance risks.
- Assess post-Go-Live hypercare, incident management, and stabilization activities.
- Recommend corrective actions to support stable financial operations after deployment.
14. Risk Management, Governance and Executive Reporting
- Identify functional, accounting, integration, compliance, testing, migration, and deployment risks.
- Maintain structured QA findings, risk registers, issue logs, and recommendation trackers.
- Monitor corrective action implementation and closure of critical QA observations.
- Prepare quality assurance reports, executive summaries, and management presentations.
- Present findings to Finance stakeholders, the System Integrator, program leadership, and governance committees.
- Engage with business and IT teams to resolve implementation issues.
- Escalate significant risks affecting financial reporting, statutory compliance, implementation quality, or operational readiness.
- Maintain independence and objectivity throughout all assurance assessments.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Candidates must meet the following
requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of SAP consulting experience, with extensive functional expertise in SAP Financial Accounting.
- Minimum 5 end-to-end SAP implementation projects.
- At least 2 SAP implementations within the Oil & Gas, Midstream, Downstream, Petrochemical, or Energy sectors.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI).
- Comprehensive functional knowledge of:

- Experience reviewing Solution Design Documents, functional specifications, and integration designs.
- Hands-on experience reviewing SIT, UAT, data migration, financial reconciliation, cutover, and Go-Live readiness.
- Strong financial accounting, business process, compliance, and reporting knowledge.
- Ability to independently challenge solution designs, identify implementation risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Willingness and availability to work onsite in Saudi Arabia according to phase-wise project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP S/4HANA certification in Financial Accounting or a relevant functional area.
- Previous experience as an SAP Finance QA Consultant, SAP Finance Solution Assurance Consultant, SAP FI Lead, or SAP Finance Solution Architect.
- Experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation or independent QA engagements in the GCC region.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology and implementation quality gates.
- Familiarity with SAP Signavio, SAP Solution Manager, or SAP Cloud ALM.
- Experience with SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC) and Saudi Arabian e-invoicing requirements.
- Experience with Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and financial process automation.
- Experience working with major System Integrators on enterprise SAP transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Arabic language proficiency will be considered an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior SAP S/4HANA Finance specialist combining hands-on SAP FI implementation expertise, financial accounting and compliance knowledge, Oil & Gas industry experience, and independent quality assurance capabilities.
Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience across core financial accounting processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Financial Closing, and financial compliance reporting.
The successful consultant should be capable of independently assessing System Integrator deliverables, challenging financial solution designs, identifying implementation risks, and recommending improvements aligned with SAP S/4HANA leading practices and statutory requirements.
Experience working with Finance leadership, financial controllers, accounting teams, SAP implementation partners, and senior project governance stakeholders is essential.
Important: This is primarily an Independent Quality Assurance, Finance Solution Review, and Implementation Governance position, rather than a conventional SAP FI implementation or configuration role.
Candidates must demonstrate proven experience reviewing, assessing, and validating SAP implementation deliverables in addition to their functional SAP Finance expertise.
