Job Description – NetApp Project Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced NetApp Project Manager to manage and coordinate enterprise NetApp storage and infrastructure projects in a data-center environment.

The role requires a strong combination of Project Management expertise and hands-on understanding of NetApp storage technologies, including FAS/AFF, ONTAP, SAN/NAS, SnapMirror, SAN zoning and VMware.

The Project Manager will work closely with infrastructure, storage, network, VMware, application, security, operations teams and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered successfully from planning through implementation and handover.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end NetApp storage and infrastructure projects.

Plan and coordinate storage migration, provisioning, upgrades, expansion and technology refresh projects.

Define project scope, schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.

Manage project risks, issues, actions, dependencies and decisions through RAID tracking.

Coordinate with Storage, Network, VMware, Application, Security and Operations teams.

Coordinate with external vendors, partners and technology suppliers.

Track project progress and provide regular status reports and stakeholder updates.

Manage project timelines, resources, quality and delivery commitments.

Coordinate testing, UAT, implementation, deployment and production handover.

Support SAN/NAS provisioning, capacity planning and data migration activities.

Coordinate SAN zoning activities involving Brocade/Cisco MDS environments.

Coordinate NetApp SnapMirror replication and migration activities.

Coordinate ONTAP/Clustered ONTAP and firmware upgrades.

Support storage infrastructure refresh and expansion initiatives.

Monitor project risks associated with storage capacity, performance, migration and availability.

Ensure appropriate documentation, implementation plans and handover documentation are completed.

Coordinate preventive maintenance, hardware replacement and infrastructure activities where required.

Participate in project/status meetings with internal stakeholders and vendors.

Ensure appropriate escalation and coordination for critical/P1 infrastructure issues.
