The Asia ex-Japan IBD COO team is responsible for strategy, business management, client focus, budgeting and forecasting, revenues and expenses, financial resource usage, hiring and training, audit, legal, and compliance issues and any other ad hoc issues and special projects as required. The position will involve a combination of both strategic and tactical responsibilities in business management.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the senior leadership across the Group and Region to drive the IBD strategy
  • Support in delivering the client coverage strategy and revenue targets
  • Supervision of junior COO team members on day-to-day operations
  • Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations and other Deep Dives:

o Manage the financial reporting (pipeline updates, forecasts, senior management updates)

o Focus on Advisory and Coverage business performance, with close coordination with relevant management team

o Lead key strategic initiatives, such as New Economy growth, collaboration with International Wealth Management and China expansion

  • Partnering with Technology, Operations, Finance and other Corporate functions:

o To own day-to-day issues pertaining to corporate function and ensure successful closure

o Drive the process for new products from the Front Office in coordination with the front office/ new products team and corporate functions

o Be able to take a lead role in the review, automation and streamlining of any functions

  • Manage the Group’s expense budgets and supervise expense policies and approvals
  • Aid in junior banker performance review process
  • Develop a strong culture of awareness by coordinating routine information updates and training programs on compliance and regulatory topics
  • Effectively build positive relationships across the team, from senior management to junior staff, in order to influence results and deliver tangible value

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years’ COO experience in Investment Banking
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in using Salesforce CRM tool, with expertise in pipeline management, KPI tracking, forecasting and analytics
  • Experience in two or more sectors required (TMS, Industrials, Real Estate, Consumer, Healthcare, FIG) within Southeast and East Asia and India
  • Proven track record of providing advisory to bankers and partnering with regional counterparts
  • Analytical skills, including ability to develop financial models and perform data analysis
  • Strong communications skills and ability to interact confidently with Front Office staff
  • AI fluent, can use AI and drive efficiency through technology
