Assistant Production Manager

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the safety and productivity of the day shift production crew. They are also expected to fill in as Production Manager during absences.
• Train new employees on safety standards and the quality management system.
• Oversee the training of new employees on job-specific procedures.
• Assist production manager with supervision of the day shift work team.
• Operation of the production lines including performing routine in-process tests, optimize production rates.
• Effective trouble-shooting of process and maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
• Daily tracking and weekly reporting of temporary employee time sheets.
• Ensure compliance with all JRS policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma.
• 2 years of first line supervision experience preferred
• Strong sense of urgency regarding plant operations, quality and safety.
• Effective at communicating with all levels of the organization.
• Adept in use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
