Assistant Manager: Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio

Location: Garfield Heights, OH | Pay: $18.50 | Type: Hourly, Full-Time

About the JobJoin us in making a meaningful impact in Garfield Heights, Ohio! Help lead a Goodwill store. As an assistant store manager, you'll help the store manager run the store day-to-day. You'll also build the store's reputation as a community partner. Responsibilities

  • Run daily store operations and schedule staff. Supervise the collection, processing, and pricing of donated goods. Run the store in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Work with the Store Manager to recruit, coach, and evaluate team members, and keep HR paperwork on time
  • Approve time worked and manage employee attendance in agency software
  • Manage cash operations, including daily counts and over/short reconciliation, and handle customer disputes and exchanges
  • Supervise backroom warehouse management and planning
  • Lead your team in following safety, retail, and security policies and CARF standards
  • Handle day-to-day employee relations and partner with HR when needed
  • Review retail reports to evaluate performance and drive growth
  • Lead production goals and lead your team in the "You Changed a Life" campaign
  • Build a positive, team-focused work culture

Qualifications

  • Two-plus years of management experience, or at least six months as a Goodwill team leader
  • Retail sales experience or demonstrated potential for management
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of merchandise such as name brands, antiques, vintage, and collectibles
  • Ability to identify different shades and tones of color
  • Experience with computers
  • First aid and CPR certification required (can get certified after hire)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays is a must
