Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer 2 to join our Operations team in Mundelein, Illinois. This role is designed for a high-potential engineer who not only excels in process improvement and technical problem-solving but also aspires to advance into Operational Leadership quickly. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience leading initiatives, influencing cross-functional teams, and driving business performance while building the foundation for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative equipment and manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Analyze existing processes and equipment to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Lead complex troubleshooting efforts to diagnose production issues and implement effective solutions that minimize downtime.
- Develop and present detailed reports outlining process improvements, project outcomes, and key performance metrics.
- Lead training initiatives to ensure team members are proficient in equipment operation, process standards, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate project and process documentation in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Drive workplace organization and efficiency through the application of 5S principles.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and other team members to support professional development and operational excellence.
- Manage process improvement projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and project initiatives.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and process optimization methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S methodologies.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across departments.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
