Job description

About Addison Innovating Safer, Healthier, and More Productive Indoor Environments At Addison, we design and manufacture semi-custom commercial HVAC solutions supported by more than 300 years of combined leadership experience, cutting-edge technology, and world-class operations. Our commitment to innovation and excellence enables us to deliver reliable, efficient, and service-friendly solutions to customers across North America. Position Overview The ideal candidate is a technically strong, detail-oriented engineering professional who excels at translating customer requirements into engineered solutions. This individual combines expertise in mechanical systems, project execution, and customer-focused engineering with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to successfully manage complex projects from quotation through delivery.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate projects from inception through completion. This role bridges technical engineering, application-specific design support, and project execution, requiring close collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from the bid, quotation, and contract review stages through successful production, shipment, installation, and customer acceptance while achieving customer satisfaction and financial objectives.
  • Manage large-scale commercial and custom-engineered projects while ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, and budget expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project plans including scope, milestones, schedules, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Review project quotes, specifications, contracts, submittal drawings, and bid documents to ensure compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of airflow dynamics, contamination control principles, and equipment performance characteristics to optimize system designs for customer-specific applications and operating environments.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Design teams to ensure customer requirements, specifications, and project scope are accurately translated into CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Lead cross-functional project coordination across Sales, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Production Control, Manufacturing, Logistics, and third-party contractors, including kickoff meetings, action tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as a primary customer contact to clarify requirements, manage expectations, provide project updates, and support a positive customer experience.
  • Assess project risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage scope, schedule, and cost changes through appropriate documentation and approvals.
  • Coordinate project readiness activities, including design approvals, material availability, production planning, logistics, and installation requirements.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including third-party installers, ensuring project requirements and timelines are achieved.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, cost variances, margins, and post-project financial reviews.
  • Support quality initiatives by identifying potential concerns early, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including final documentation, customer acceptance, warranty follow-up, lessons learned, and project performance reviews.
  • Ensure all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project documentation are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned to support project delivery, operational excellence, customer commitments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing engineering, manufacturing, or customer-focused projects from initiation through completion.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, scope control, change management, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, CAD drawing packages, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience maintaining BOM integrity, documentation accuracy, and configuration control throughout project execution.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
